Notes2750 at Mehama, 1800 at Niagara, with 600 in the Little North. John Ditmars and I explored the Weasel for the first time this year. It was probably about 2200 at the spot. The island was covered with water flowing through it but the upper spot eddy was still big. We got massive downtime at the upper spot. The lower was tougher. The water was super cold today and we could only stand it for one set.

Noteslower spot seems to be slightly easier at these little bit lower levels. lotta doubles from the upper spot to the lower spot. fritz, ellis showed up (the Ida-bros) today for a week at the Weasel.. couldnt have come at a more perfect time. tim, tehan, kirby, andy, me and ryan were all out there on sunday with fritz and ellis.. was a bit cold when the sun went behind the clouds, but other than that, there wasnt much to complain about... ideal levels, great friends, awesome mysterys!

Notesi just bumped up the max flow to 2200... considering the fact that our set yesterday what totally quality and it would probably GO at a even higher level. massive downtime was had by all: ryan, diesel, andy, tehan, jono, and myself. doesnt get much better.. sunny day in oregon and with as much mysterymoving as you can deal with.

Notescamped out sat night, sunday boating: joel, mike, weaver, paul. tim came down later after we had all left. I had great mysterys, mostly worked the upper stop. but my session was short and sweet, because: it was cloudy out, i had a drydeck with a ripped neck gasket, and i had no beany to wear under my helmet. So REMINDER TO OUT OF TOWNERS: bring fall/winter paddling gear or you might get a little skunked like i did today thinking it was going to be a warm summer day. probably could have had a drysuit on since my boat leaks so much.. but a beany or rubber hoody would have made my life alot more happy if i had them. the brain freeze was really hard to deal with and i cut my time short cause i was getting a bit hypothermic. all in all, great level and great mysterys to be had.

Notesa 4 man crew rallied down to the weasel last night..jono, ryan, weaver, diesel. put on the water at 7:45pm... had a long great session as the sun set, and into the moonlight. walked out in the dark. the river is convieniently aligned with the sunset in the west so you can squeeze in a few more rides at night. its bad ass. huge rides at both the upper and lower spot. many doubles where you drop into the upperspot, and drift underwater into the lower spot and have to come up for air. need more jedi training to work on breath control, as it was the main limiting factor in these huge and lowkey rides. upper spot was where it was \at\ and the lower spot seam will only \cleanup\ as the water drops a bit. could do a easy TN crawl into the upper spot and drop big..its a break right then left backcut into the slab move.

Notesbest spot ever. incredible. better pure downtime than Smoothie because there is no limit on the roaming... only limit is breath control. ie. no washing down to safety eddy or risk of going threw Phils hole if you get too big of a mystery and surface way out in the current.

Noteskiller sesh at the weasel....joel and tehan with the River Gypsies, Leland and Andria and Hudson, and new sinkers Ryan and Christine perfect level at 1500 cfs water was warm(ish) spot is a little different, but still way excellent...long easy mysteries still the norm... .joel had long double ride with just a lips up breath-o-air before sinking into the lower realm... great to hang with new friends...thanks for the ride and refreshments Leland and Ryan weasel is back for the summer! come on out and sample the goods

NotesBig Weasel Gathering this weekend! Huge rides were had by all.. we had 11 folks come out from all over the west coast, and even from Canada. Upper charc was a little harder to find at this lower level..1400cfs was better for the upper charc but people were still finding it. Good times! Team Nevada dialed in some sweet camping motivated by the fact that Fishermans Bend had a ton of little kids crying and running around. (i updated the spot description with this) Sweet camping is at Rock Creek campground... go into MillCity.. make a right and go down by the bridge which is actually the takeout from the Packsaddle to MillCity run. go over the river. eventually you get to the post office..make a left. now you are on Kingwood Ave. in this same area there is a little grocery store and a laundry mat. going on kingwood ave, youll see a tiny little sign on your left that says Rock Creek.. turn right there and the paved road will quickly turn into a gravel road. Booyaa.

NotesBig gathering today: jono, arthur, joel, tim tehan and i. it doesnt get any better than this. world class. it is noteworthy that jono started tapping a whole new dropzone on a charc upstream from the normal drop zone. Tim began to pinoneer linking this upper charc to the lower charc... its only a matter of time before this happens. This is really incredible, because the normal drop zone/seam already will give you all you can want. 8 or 9 out of 10 rides we only come up cause we need a breath or air.

NotesMiles reported big downtime, but the seam was even more finicky and disturbed at the surface. the downtime wasnt longer, just faster. it was much tougher to get in and down. the hike back upstream is also much tougher and generally a pain in the ass. At these levels, its only worth the drive if you are really hurting for mysteries. Id say the cut-off for good quality should be anything under 2000ish.

NotesMiles and I hit it Sunday afternoon. The spot was sick! We had multiple 20+ers. Water was warmer, higher, and murkier than the previous few weeks sessions.

NotesTim and I had an excellent session today. Entry was more finicky, but the downtime was bigger and better. We found a better take out point on river left, eliminating the need to wade back upriver. take out on river left in the eddy, and find the trail heading back upstream. Walk out on the ledges, find a put in, and float to the vehicle.

Joel, Tehan and I were all killing it.. 10-20+sec the norm... super fun rides.. could get big travel when you crossed under the highway... very clear water, great visuals! we were sometimes tagging this pyramid rock we call Mr. Mxyzptlk, on deep rides..but totally safe.
