Directions:
Pretty obvious spot located at the primary steps takeout for the Goshen Pass \\meat\\ section. Walk down the steps and upstream to a large beach with a fire ring. Slide in here, cross the flow to set up in the eddy behind the smooth marble-ish ledge. This is the last plug of water that empties into Indian Pool, but take a look at the next few spots above, sometimes they can give up rides too but need to catch the eddy quickly. The charc here is tricky. You have to paddle all the way up the diagonal ledge, and drop in parallel to the ledge/trough with a lefty charc. I try to be under right when my bow gets to the obvious fold. You WILL smack the rock here with your bow until you get it dialed. Smack away, unlike the Bubbler the rock here is smooth and not pinnable. I try to stay as flat as possible and only take a small bite out of the plug. If you get both ends under and have a bit of leftward momentum it will carry you almost immediately over a second ledge for a double suck. The second ledge is underwater and usually not visible, and I think it is also about 30 degrees left of the set up ledge. The best rides are when you miss the rock by inches and get slammed down perfectly parallel to the 2nd ledge, but you can still get sent with some rock taps. The rides go from 0 to 60, getting sent plugs you right into the last wave train entering the pool. Best control comes from being right on the eddyline, half in half out. If you live in Virginia you know exactly where this spot is. Out of towners: From I-81 take exit 195. Driving west on 39 from Lexington, pass through Rockbridge Baths --SEE also Going Postal-- following the Maury on river right another couple miles. About a mile after the valley closes in, the road takes a sharp turn to the left, then a huge paved pulloff appears on the right that can hold 15 cars single file. Park here and walk down the steps. Bring a plastic boat, this is the main takeout for people getting their laps in on the classic class 3/4 goshen pass. For significant others, there is good fishing on the opposite side of the river, and several good crags to climb. The pebbly beach is actually pretty epic too, perfect view of the arena.

Notes	Beautiful setting and kinesthetics. John Tiedeman and myself came out after sessioning Going Postal. Found a ticket to ride. At this level the eddyline becomes a lot more defined. I think the plug of water was also dropping off at steeper, just right angle. Had the most success by focusing on letting my right foot take a nibble at 30 degrees, swinging me parallel with the trough of the hole and under, and continuing the momentum left another 30 degrees underwater then WHAM over the second ledge. When you hit it right it sent you fast. On the good rides didn\t touch the ledge at all and felt like I had plugged into the heart of the wave train. John was having a breakthrough day and had his \best mystery moves ever\ there. Having seen the spot at midsummer low clear water on a previous trip, I am happy to report there is nothing in the river right channel to worry about, just a cobbley river bottom. Bombs away!

Notes	High water, did the whole run. Indian pool was washed out but there were tons of quick dip spots, wanted to explore the section below but got snared into helping a stranded canoeist.

Notes	Got some occasional rides. Hard to get back up eddy. I think the flow drops off steeper at low water. May have had poor results from being too scared to go for it, didn\t know what was underwater so I was trying to stay shallow. Upper spots were good for head under in a couple different spots
