NotesWent out to White Horse to try and get some beta on levels. The Potomac was flowing at 3.15 ft and the Shenandoah at 1.76 ft. The eddy was well formed but a little flushy down towards the bottom making it hard to get back up at times. It was really easy for me to get up to my neck, which is the deepest I have gone as of yet. I would say that with a little more skill these levels and below would be good. I did find that when I let myself drift out into the main flow avoiding being flushed down the rest of the rapid required some hard work. However, the two times I did end up downstream, the waves just below were a welcome addition to my day and made the walk back up worthwhile. I will include a short video of this level and plan to report back as the levels begin to drop even more.

NotesWith Fascination Alley blown out from recent rain I decided to do an exploratory at White Horse on the Po in Harpers Ferry. I put in on the Po just above the bridges before the confluence with the Shenandoah. I played as much as I could finding several spots where I could get neck deep but not much else. However, almost at the bottom of White Horse on River Left I found a small pourover with a really big eddy behind it. The River left side of this pourover had a weak squeeze to it. I spent over an hour at this spot and found that if you used a really steep charc, ie, coming in almost parallel with the eddy line, you could get your head wet for one or two spins with about 15 feet of travel. It was nothing epic but it would be a spot I would definitely frequent if I were a local.

NotesThe HF confluence gauge only reads down to 3.4 and the whiteHorse rapid is good at the lower levels that do not register on the gauge. There is also a nice splatter rock at WH adjacent to the upper eddy. At high water there are some BOOMING waves and exploding holes happening in this same area.
